Over the years as a freshman, I attended a high school when I was 14 and it was called Herron Classical High School. When I first entered, I was nervous about anyone not liking me. But the girl came up to me and said “Hey. Are you Maddie?” I said to her “yep. That’s me. I’m new here so I am nervous”. Then, she said “It’s okay. Everyone’s kind’ve nervous and new as well. You’re not the only one. Don’t worry”. I said to her, “thanks”. My dad dropped me off and signed at the front desk and left. She told me, “Do you want a tour of your new high school?” Then, I said “Okay, sure.” She took me to Mr. Westerfeld’s office and told him that he can give me a tour. He took me to see that whole part of the school. After that part of the tour, he took me to the girl that I met and she took me to the main building for the rest of the tour. After the tour, the bell rang and it was an a day for period 1. I looked at my schedule and my first class was reading and composition with Mr. Northcutt. When I arrived, Mr. Northcutt and I met each other and introduced ourselves. He showed where my desk was and he introduced me to the other teenagers. They all said hi to me and I said hi to them. The plan was the bellwork, working on grammar, and then some lexia. At the end of class, the bell rang and it was time for advisory with Ms. Mays. She let me have free time on my computer. That was so sweet of her to say that to me. After the bell, it was time to go to seminar with Ms. luck in the lyceum. I saw all of the resource teachers and the kids. So I went to my desk next to my new friend, Taylor Carrol. We both said hi to each other and introduced ourselves. I did have some homework for reading and composition so I got my computer and logged in to lexia. I had to admit, I’m really getting used to the school already so I’m proud of myself. When the bell rang, it’s time for lunch so I grabbed my lunchbox and my water bottle from my backpack and headed to the cafeteria. In the cafeteria, I opened my lunchbox and for lunch, I had a snack lunch which was pepperoni, cheese, blueberries, and some pretzel chip crackers. After lunch, I headed back to seminar. When I got back to class, I went on back on lexia. When the bell rang later, it was time for next period. I looked on my schedule and it looks like I’m heading to journalism with Ms. Gillis.

When I arrived to class, I went to my desk. She let me have free time when the rest of my new friends worked on something else. When she called everyone over, she told us that there is a new student who is me. Ms. gillis and my friends clapped and cheered to let me feel welcome. I was so happy. When the bell rang a bit later, it was time for the last class of the day. I looked at my schedule and it looks like I’m heading to algebra 1. So, I got all packed up and ready for me and ms.gillis to walk me down to my last class. When I arrived in class, I got a whiteboard, a marker, a bellwork and some notes. When I got the essentials, I went to my desk and settled everything and got ready when the bell rang. When Mrs. hofmann came in, we all worked on some math. When we’re done in class, the bell rang and it was time to go home. My dad picked me up and I got my ipad ready and my snack ready and went home to finish the rest of my day. I really had a good day at school and I couldn’t wait to go again.
Looking back, I had an awesome time during freshman year. It lasted forever until the last day of school on friday the 30th. Even though I’m going to miss my friends and teachers, I still hope they are all in my heart forever and ever. The sentence that I would say to another new freshman is that it’s okay if you don’t know all about it, it’s all about getting to know about it first and moving forward in life to becoming a sophomore and of course, always know that the teachers are there for you and to make learning more fun with your friends. What I thought about my freshman year was a little bit overwhelming but overall once I got to know it a lot better, I started to enjoy it and I totally loved my freshman year.
