Broad Ripple Art Fair

This is the 54th annual Broad Ripple Art Fair. This two day art fair is the Indy Art Center’s largest fundraiser every year, so all the money goes to add to and support the art around the city.

Strawberry Festival

📍 Christ Cathedral Church, 125 Monument Circle
🎟️ $10 for the works

Enjoy some fresh strawberry shortcake with biscuits, ice cream, and whipped topping! The Christ Church Cathedral Women host this festival. The event serves as a fundraiser for local, national, and international non-profit organizations.

Community Peace Walk & Block Party

Juneteenth Foodways Festival

📍 Benjamin Harrison Presidential Site, 1230 N. Delaware St.
🎟️ Free general admission, $20 for early admission at 3:30 p.m.

Support Black food vendors, celebrate the influence of Black cuisine on America’s favorite foods and learn about Dolly Johnson, the first Black caterer to work in the White House.

Pride Parade

Come to the Indy Pride Parade to support the LGBTQIA+ community on June 14th! Floats, dancers, and drag queens parade down Mass Ave to celebrate queer joy. Anyone can join the parade band. Sign up, wear an Indy Pride t-shirt and bring your instrument. There’s a rehearsal the day before.

Lumpia Festival

🗓️ 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 14
📍 Philippine Cultural Community Center, 4141 S. East St.

The Lumpia Festival in Indianapolis is a fun way to try both traditional and creative Filipino spring rolls. With great food and a lively vibe, it’s a quick, tasty way to experience something new.

Celebration on the Circle

🗓️ Noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, June 14-15
📍Monument Circle

This is a party on the Circle for all ages with line dancing, a DJ, performances and a drag queen story time. Visit food vendors and health care providers’ tables. Then on Sunday, Indy Pride will partner with Indy Gay Market to bring local artisans to the celebration.

Talbot Street Art Fair

It’s that time of year again. Stop by the Talbot Street Art Fair to see the best in craftsmanship and artistry of over 200 artists from across the country. Come buy art and enjoy some amazing food from local food trucks. The Talbot Street Art Fair is great for all ages!

Bloombox Festival

The outdoor festival will feature local indie musicians and visual artists who will perform and create original work. Also, you can buy handmade goods at the DIY contemporary craft fair. Eiteljorg Indian Market and Festival

    Evelyn is a sophomore and is one of the founders of the newspaper club, currently merged with yearbook. She doesn’t quite know what she wants to do with her life yet but she always finds herself coming back to journalism. Her favorite classes include history, art, and chemistry.  She has a specific interest in US history and loves keeping up on politics and debating people when they are misinformed. She is currently a starter on the softball team and has been playing for 11 years. Evelyn loves studying trends in clothing. She finds the way current events affect what is “in style” fascinating. She also consumes an unhealthy amount of chick flicks. She finds comfort in the cookie cutter story lines but loves how each movie is always a little different. On occasion she also consumes some modern serious movies. From her love of movies sprouts her desire to write journalism. Movies like Devil Wears Prada and Bridget Jones Diary all show journalism in a flattering light, making evelyn want to participate all the more. She wants to write about topics she already knows about and topics she doesn’t. She hopes this opportunity to write will show her a clearer path into the future and how she will spend it.
