Where do you live?

She lives in Greenwood, Indiana. She grew up in Crown Point, Indiana, though, which is near Chicago.

What do you like to do for fun?

She likes to read and write poetry for fun. She also likes to play Animal Crossing on her Nintendo Switch. She also enjoys playing with her kids.

What’s your favorite thing about being a teacher?

Her favorite thing about being a teacher is helping young people discover their passions and who they are. She loves building relationships with her students.

What made you come to Herron?

Her last school closed down, so she needed to find a new school. She wanted to find a school that felt like home, where their values aligned with hers, and Herron was exactly that.

Where did you work?

Her first teaching job was at Christel House West, where she taught Middle School. Then, she worked at Thrival Indy Academy, which was an IPS Innovation school.

What made you a teacher?

Her teachers were very inspiring to her, so she wanted to be like them. She wanted to share her love and passion for reading and writing and help the next generation discover their own passions.

How’s your family doing?

Her family is doing well. Her husband and her just got married in March, and they are trying to adopt her 3 nephews who have been living with them the last 2 years.

What other jobs did you do before becoming a teacher?

When she was in high school and College, she worked at the YMCA in childcare. She also worked in the pharmacy at Walgreens.

Do you have any pets and what are their names?

She has a dog named Ebony and is a pitbull. She also has 4 cats named Xayah, Obi Wan Kenobi, Kitterz, and Roach.
